Do you remember the days when water was water? There was nothing fancy about it. It didn't matter about the taste, you just drank it. Plus, it didn't matter where you got it from. That is how it was when I was a kid.

When I was growing up and I was playing outside with my friends during the summer, we would get hot and thirsty. My group didn't want to take a break and go outside. We just drank out of the garden hose. All the kids did that. No one would ever think of doing that nowadays.
I was trying to remember when all that changed and people stopped drinking tap water. Back in the day, if you were fancy then you're family had one of those water coolers. They were mostly found in offices and businesses.
Then one day, people started getting water filters for their kitchen sinks. Consumers were purchasing water bottles. What a crazy concept! Families were starting to pay extra for water. They no longer wanted it straight from the tap.
I'll admit, I've got a water filtration system in my house and I'm really spoiled. I can't drink regular tap water anymore. When I go to my mom's house in the suburbs, she has Lake Michigan water. That's gross. Is there tap water still worth drinking? Apparently, there is. Where's the best-tasting tap water in Illinois and Wisconsin?
You can find the best-tasting tap water from Illinois in Aurora. I can't remember ever having any but I'm intrigued so I'll have to check it out. That's not the city that I expected.
Okay, who has the best-tasting tap water in Wisconsin? That honor goes to Appleton which makes sense to me. In fact, I can see many cities in the state having tasty tap water. Once again, I'll have to give it a try.
