The cost of seeing a live concert nowadays is to the point where one really has to pick and choose what shows you can budget in every year. As with many Eagle listeners, the cost of a concert wasn't that much when I was younger. Cost rarely played into the decision, with tickets costing anywhere from $15-$25 range including parking, tops. Lawn seats nowadays are routinely fifty bucks at a minimum, plus another twenty just to park in their precious lot. Add $9 beers(if you're lucky) and if you dare get a tshirt at the merchandise table, you can tack on an additional fifty bucks. Don't forget to times that by two, guys. You gotta pay for your lady too, right? For example, the cheapest ticket for the Grateful Dead shows in Chicago this summer is $95.50! That's for a ticket in Section 900, which is 150 feet higher than the stage. I paid fifteen for my first show in 1988.

Aerosmith is bringing their live show to Rockford on the big screen. A great new trend has been happening for the past few years. Special rock concert films being shown on the big screen. Last year, I saw the Grateful Dead live from 1972 at the movies. Now, Aerosmith is bringing their live show to town with Aerosmith Rocks Donington 2014 to Showplace 16 on Thursday, February 26 at 7 p.m.

The concert is heavy with their second act hits from 1987 to present, but still gives us an excellent three-song encore that includes early classics "Mama Kin" and "Dream On." Tickets for the ninety-minute concert film is fifteen bucks, or the cost of one kind-of cold beer at a live show in today's world.
