Back in the day, one of my favorite things to do as a kid growing up was go to the video store on a Friday night to rent movies for the weekend. The thrill of walking up and down the aisles to find that hidden gem that nobody knew about or grabbing that last copy of the hot new release. Children today will never get to experience that fun.

I'll admit, I was very disappointed when Family Video went out of business in Rockford. I still enjoyed going to pick out movies with my family. I thought that was pretty much it for the world of renting flicks. Of course, there's the last Blockbuster but that's in Oregon. I don't really see myself traveling there anytime soon. Though, I did joke with my wife that we should take a trip there.

If you're ever in the area, you can find it at 459 West Gilman Street. They have over 23,000 movies on DVD and VHS to rent.
