Add This One To the List, Boone County Fair 2020 Has Been Officially Canceled

And just like that, the COVID-19 pandemic claims another event. The Boone County Fair has been officially canceled for 2020.

WIFR reported Monday night that the Belvidere Chamber of Commerce and the Boone County Fair Board made the tough decision after following the pandemic data and recommendation from the Boone County Health Department and other community leaders.

Last year the Boone County Fair saw 222,000 people during the 6 days it was open. It is one of the largest fairs in Illinois.

Officials have already planned the 2021 Boone County fair for August 10th - 15th.
