There is a certain feeling you get walking into an independent record store. You can talk with the owners, other music lovers and there is something special to be said about hearing a needle drop on a track while previewing it in-store.

These amazing establishments are far and few between, but here in Rockford we are fortunate to have at the greatest of them at our fingertips.

Culture Shock Clothing and Records, CD Source, Toad Hall Books & Records and Kate's Pie Shop have come together to present one of the biggest and best record crawls that Rockford has ever seen. This big event falls between Record Store Day, which is in April every year, and Black Friday.

The 2nd Annual Rockford Record Crawl will be this Saturday, October 17, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Besides perusing records, eclectic boutique gifts, clothing and more, guests can enjoy no cover charge for special events too!

Here is a preview of all the fantastic things happening on Saturday:

10 a.m.: Fork and Stein Gourmet Food Truck will be on hand at Culture Shock Clothing and Records, providing amazing breakfast for shoppers.

Noon: Culture Shock Clothing & Records will present live music from PM Buys, recently featured on Audio Tree Live.

3 p.m.: CD Source presents local musicians, Vinyl Tap.

7 p.m.: Kate's Pie Shop is hosting an After Party presenting # One Very Good Band, Tyler Bushman, Dingus and Pardon My Subconscious.

Throughout the day, punch cards will be available at all four stores. If you visit all four stores, you can enter in a drawing for the chance to with $100!

There will also be prizes awarded for separate drawings at each location and there will be a treasure hunt to win additional prizes at each store.

This will be by far one of the biggest events for music lovers in the Rockford Area. We can't wait to see you there!
