The crosstown rivalry between Cubs and Sox fans is legendary. Very rarely do you find someone who likes both. It usually ends up being a 'one or the other' situation. My first baseball game was in the summer of '78 at Wrigley when the Cubbies hosted a doubleheader with the Montreal Expos, featuring future northsider Andre Dawson. Me and Dad had seats right next to the Cubs dugout, first row near the batter's circle. Larry Biittner's sister sat next to us and kept giving me iced tea because it was a thousand degrees outside.

I always loved going to Comiskey Park though too. Even as a kid, those grandstands always enticed me, even with the big pillars in the way. I liked how the bullpens were set aside with their own little area too. I really do like both teams, but if you haven't won anything in over one hundred years, then you haven't earned anyone's love as far as I'm concerned. Yes, I'm talking to you, Cubs. You know you want my love, now earn it damn it!

This year marks the 100th anniversary of Wrigley Field. Wrigley has it's downsides, but you really can't beat a day at the friendly confines. Hot dogs, ice cold Old Style, a visiting team's victory...it's all there at Wrigley. So when the team commissioned murals to be painted on the outside walls facing Sheffield Ave., you would think they would use actual Wrigley pictures. One baseball historian noticed that one was actually a scene from when Charles Lindbergh visited Chicago and spent the day taking in a baseball game. On the southside. At Comiskey Park. At least now Steve Bartman isn't the only one not allowed near the north side again
