With Winter Coming, Illinois Ranked One of the Worst States For Driving
Here we are on the 8th day of November, and you know like I do...the white stuff will be here soon. Getting from point "A" to point "B" is always a pain around these parts. THEN you add in the snow and you have instant trouble.
According to this study from MONEYGEEK Illinois is ranked as on of the top ten WORST winter driving states, well duh.
With this study done between 2017-2019 the sad truth that comes from the "Fatality Analysis Reporting System," Illinois is one of the ten worst states for winter driving.
The types of driving conditions we are looking at include sleet, snow, blowing snow or freezing drizzle...None of that is the least bit fun the drive in!
Obviously these states are ones that get hammered the hardest when it comes to the icky winter weather. You don't see Hawaii on this list...
So let's take a look at the Top Ten Worst Driving States During Winter Weather:

There are some interesting things to note. Iowa you would think, would fall into that midwest "bad winter driving" category. It's actually the opposite, the list of SAFEST states to drive in, Iowa is number seven. Weird, huh?
