The Supreme Court of Wisconsin has approved legislation that gives consent to police officers to draw blood from drunk drivers that are unconscious.

This is a gamechanger in the world of DUI arrests.

In the past, you might get so drunk, that you fell asleep. This enabled you to "sleep off" your buzz while your blood alcohol content goes down.

Not anymore.

According to yahoo.com,

"The Wisconsin state Supreme Court says police can legally draw blood from unconscious drunken drivers."

Here is the final vote tally and what it means.

"The court ruled 5-2 Tuesday that drivers automatically consent to a blood draw when they drive on Wisconsin roads. The court found that drivers who drink themselves into unconsciousness forfeit any opportunity to withdraw that consent."

I'm sure other states will follow their lead.

Your best bet is to not put yourself into that position. Don't drink and drive.
