I'm glad someone said exactly what I've been thinking since the moment we heard rumors of the nation's highest court upending a nearly 50-year-old precedent.

On Sunday evening, just a couple of days after the U.S. Supreme Court's decision to make abortion a matter handled by individual states, my daughter sat down next to me to tell me about a list she's been working on.

My Teenage Daughter Wants to Live Where SHE is in Control of Her Body

In just over one year, my daughter will be 18 years old and she has been working on a list of states she one day hopes to visit, including some she might like to call home. What had her excited about this list on this day is that there wasn't one state on the list that currently takes away her right to choose what happens to her body.

I don't blame her for wanting to live somewhere where she feels free to do with her body whatever SHE believes is best for her.

I wish I could, at this very moment, be proud of my country like I am of my daughter. Her having fewer rights than her grandmother breaks my heart. I'm overwhelmed by the feeling that we have again let down the generation behind us.
