Wisconsin Restaurant Said to Have Some of America’s Best Mac ‘N’ Cheese
Making a good plate of macaroni and cheese isn't as easy as you think.
Sure there is such a thing as Easy Mac but that's not what I'm talking about.
What I'm talking about, creating something that all children love and making it into an entertaining and well, worth talking about the dish.
Just because mac and cheese amounts to macaroni, cheese, milk, butter, and a few other ingredients doesn't mean that it's the same everywhere.
Actually, it's quite the opposite. It's what's going on under the hood that makes some macaroni and cheese dishes so much better than the rest.
So when Love Food set out to find the Best Macaroni and Cheese In Each State, I had no idea what to expect when I was scrolling through each state's mac and cheese offering.
When I got to Wisconsin though, I was kind of intrigued.
At Triskele’s in Milwaukee, there are three great mac ‘n’ cheese options. But the best is without doubt the inventive Mac & Cheese with Gorgonzola, Fresh Rosemary & Cabernet Reduction. The sweet wine drizzle perfectly cuts through the richness of the blue cheese sauce.
Seems like Yelp agrees on the mac and cheese at Triskele's too.
Rated a four out of five on Yelp, reviewer Lauren S. says "I also had the mac & cheese with all three cheeses and andouille, and it was a truly religious cheese experience."
Whoa, a review invoking religion. This must be some seriously good mac and cheese at Triskele's.
Yelp reviewer Josh H. has a different opinion though saying "I had the gnocchi and my partner had the mac and cheese, both sub-par and quite small."
So maybe it's one of those you need to try for yourself kind of things?
Triskele's is located at 1801 South 3rd Street in Milwaukee.
