The perfect example just happened in Madison. A scam artist pretended to be an investor offering his clients help with purchasing things like Cryptocurrency, Foreign Currency Exchange Market, Mutual Funds, and the Stock Market. He would even send them fake account statements.

He then turned around and purchased big-ticket items for himself, like a Lamborghini. He even played to role on social media to attract new customers. The suspect ended up stealing over $800,000 from the victims.

A 40-year-old Wisconsin man was convicted on a guilty plea to charges of wire fraud and money laundering for his role in a long-term investment scam.

 

Kromray also used social media to falsely showcase wealth acquired from trading, featuring photos of luxurious purchases such as a vacation home, watches, exotic sports cars, and more.

 

According to the release, investors lost over $800,000 due to his schemes, of which Kromray said he used about $50,000 to make a payment on a 2022 Lamborghini Urus, which, according to the Kelley Blue Book, starts at roughly $263,000.
