Some of my favorite memories during high school are from playing football. Our team was horrible but I still had fun. That's how I met some of my best friends because of those games and practices.

I couldn't imagine going through high school without those experiences. I feel bad for any student-athlete who has to miss any of those games, especially because there is only a limited amount of time to make those memories during your career.
Unfortunately, sometimes it's out of the control of the students with factors like injuries, strikes, and other things like that. Other events are the fault of the athletes and easily could've been prevented by using better judgment.
My high school football team was full of knuckleheads, including myself. We didn't always make the right decisions off the field but at least we didn't do anything stupid enough to lose out on any games.
The Reedsburg High School varsity football team in Wisconsin is going to miss the first two games of their season because of the actions of nine players on the team. Hopefully, they learn a valuable lesson from the incident.
There is an Amish community nearby. According to reports, the player vandalized property owned by families in that area and even harassed animals that live on those farms too. There is no need for this kind of behavior and it's really sad that this sort of thing still happens in the world today.
