Hitting the local g-kart track is fun, but if you want the real thrill of flying down the raceway, then I suggest checking out a place like this one in Wisconsin.

The first time I ever got to experience actually driving a go-kart on my own was at the Wisconsin Dells. Up to that point, I had only ridden with my dad. I can't even explain how much of a thrill that was. My parents told me that we were going there at the end of the summer, before school started, for a short vacation. I couldn't stop thinking about that trip for months.

According to US Air Motorsports Raceway...

Originally designed to be a premier Kart racing track, the road course combines fast sweeping corners, tight hairpins, long straightaways and elevation changes you have to see to believe.  It's called the "Rollercoaster of Love" for a reason!

Getting the first solo ride in a go-kart was awesome. Soon after, a go-kart track opened near where I grew up. I would save up my paper route money to go check it out. Then, as an adult, I got to drive on a real go-kart racetrack. Those things went 50-60 mph. I had to wear a helmet and safety gear. That was so cool.

I just found out about a place I have to check out sometime this summer. It's US Air Motorsports Raceway in Shawano. It's the world's largest go-kart track. It's 1.1 miles long. The track isn't just an oval; this place has adventure throughout the course. This is about the closest you'll get to real racing. The racetrack also hosts other racing events during the summer.
