Winnebago County’s First Recreational Pot Dispensary Is Approved
The first recreational marijuana dispensary for Winnebago County has been approved.
The magic date of January 1st, 2020 is going to be here before you know it. That's the first official day of recreational marijuana in the state of Illinois.
Of course, there are still many questions that need to be answered. I think the top question is, "Where will you be able to purchase legal weed locally?" Well, I think there is finally an answer. Eventually, there will be several locations but we finally got the first one. It's in South Beloit.
According to rrstar.com,
"South Beloit’s Zoning Board of Appeals and Planning Commission approved a special-use permit to allow for an “adult-use cannabis dispensing organization” in a commercial traffic district. The dispensary will be located on a two-acre site at 7000 First Ranger Drive, south of the Road Ranger truck stop at Gardner Street and Willowbrook Road."
They are hoping to not only have customers from Illinois but also from Wisconsin. Kind of like how it works between Wisconsin and Illinois with fireworks.
We will have many more announcements like this in the coming months.
