Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department NYE Ride Home Program CANCELLED

Budget cuts have eliminated an annual NYE free ride program.

According to WIFR, budget cuts have forced the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office to suspend their annual NYE "Ride Home Program".

The budget cuts have trimmed down the number of employees for the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office, and now programs are disappearing.

Winnebago County Sheriff Gary Caruana stated the individuals that plan on drinking on New Year's Eve, should set up a designated driver, use a ride-sharing company or call a taxi to arrive home safe this year.
