The upcoming U2 "iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE" tour is going to be more than just some huge traveling rock show. It's also going to be a proving ground for Bono. Just a few months ago, he was involved in a bicycle crash that resulted in an arm bone to protrude from his...well, arm. I get a little woozy just writing that.

The band just added a fifth show to their run at the United Center on July 2. Tickets are on sale now and sure, you could buy them. Even better, you can win them this week.

There are two ways you can win:

  1. Go to our Facebook page and tell us who you would bring with you to the U2 concert. Friday morning at nine, we'll pick one lucky commenter who will score a pair of tickets to see U2, July 2nd at the United Center.
  2. Listen to the Commercial-Free 5:00 Traffic Jam with Brizz on Thursday and Friday. When he plays a U2 song during the Jam, caller ten at 815-227-9670 will score a pair of tickets to the July 2nd show.

The last time we gave away U2 tickets, we took a busload of Eagle listeners to the United Center. We had a blast! King of Leon opened up and played a good set of tunes. Their first two albums are excellent, by the way. U2 then hit the stage and made a lot of noise playing a great set that spanned the bands then 25 year career.

Many of us from the bus were sitting in the same section and noticed a film camera having parts of the crowd on the opposite side of the arena yell and hoop and holler. We found out they were filming the shows in Chicago for a DVD that was eventually released as "Vertigo Live- U2 Live in Chicago 2005."

The video comes just after Bono dedicates the concert to the Eagle listeners. You should've been there:
