Who Knew? Three of America’s Safest Cities & Towns Are in Illinois
If you like to hate on Illinois, this one is going to be tough to swallow.
That's because three of America's 10 safest cities and towns just so happen to be in the Land of Lincoln.
Shocking, right? Not really if you happen to live in one of these suburban wonderlands.
Even more incredible, is that Buffalo Grove is not only considered one of the safest towns in America, but MoneyGeek.com also says it IS the #1 safest town in the US.
At a crime cost of $22 per capita, it doesn't get any better than Buffalo Grove.
The safest town in the U.S. is Buffalo Grove, Illinois. While this city is located in the Midwest, most of the top safest small cities are found in the Northeast.
With a violent crime rate of 12.4% and a property crime rate of 49.5% and the average cost of crime under $1000 ($906), Buffalo Grove, based on numbers alone, is the place to live if you want to keep your family safe while calling Illinois home.
That's not all though. MoneyGeek.com says Bartlett, and Orland Park, two more Chicago suburbs, are ranked in the top 10 at #5 and #8 respectively.
Just outside the top ten, Northbrook (#11), Park Ridge (#23), and Mount Prospect (#24) made the top 25.
There are plenty of other cities and towns in Illinois that made the list too. See if your hometown made the list HERE.
