Where Does Unclaimed Luggage Go?

Have you ever lost your luggage on a flight, for it to never return again? This is where you can re-purchase your lost items.

I've been one of the lucky few (maybe it's because I barely fly) that have never lost their luggage on an airplane. I've had a bag delayed before, but it was dropped safely at the hotel a few hours later.

Others are not as lucky. 99.5 percent of domestic airlines' checked bags are picked up by their owners at the baggage carousel. Half of the 1 percent don't arrive with the passangers. Five days later, 95 percent of those delayed bags find their way home. What about the other tiny amount of bags that never return home?

I finally got my answer today. These bags head over to Unclaimed Baggage Center in Scottsboro, Alabama! 

This isn't just a baggage claim center... it's the most high-end thrift store on the planet.

All of the bags are unpacked, sorted, cleaned etc. and priced by experts and put on the shelves.

This place even has a museum of some of the most unique items they have seen.

Currently they do not sell items online, but will be in the future. You have got to check it out. Maybe you can find that stuffed animal you lost when you went to Disney?
