Along with getting drunk, here are a few fun activities you can do at bars in Rockford.

If you're going out drinking in Rockford, there's a good chance your goal is to catch a buzz. There's nothing wrong with that. I don't drink, so if I'm hitting the bars, I would like some fun activities to enjoy.

Of course, there are things like socializing with friends, watching a game, comedy show or checking out a live band. Some people like karaoke, DJs, dancing, or trivia. There's darts, pool, and Golden Tee. All fun things — but what about something different?

Unique Things To Do In Rockford Bars Besides Drink

  • Multi-Sport Simulator - Skybox (inside Indoor Sports Center at Mercyhealth Sportscore Two) - Don't let the winter weather keep you from enjoying your favorite summer sports like golf.
  • Shuffle Board - CJ's Public House (300 East State) - I really enjoy playing this old school game.
  • Bumper Pool - Sips In The Park (5525 North 2nd Street) - Before Bun E. Carlos started his Monday night band, he used to play bumper pool on Monday nights.
  • Gamble On Horse Racing - Trackside Rockford (inside Don Carter Lanes) - Win some money betting on the ponies. I usually pick by the names.
  • Bowling - B & B Park Bowl (5626 North Second Street) - Nice little bowling alley to get in a couple of games during a night out.
  • Bubble Hockey - Dockside Taproom (inside Prairie Street Brewing Company) - If I could own one arcade game for my house, it would be this one. The fact that the teams are Chicago Blackhawks vs Detroit Red Wings makes it even better.
  • Mini-Putt - Louie's Tap House (5689 Elevator Rd.) - You don't have to be a good golfer to be good at mini-putt.
  • Open Stage - Mary's Place (602 N. Madison St) - This is different than seeing a live band because you never know what will happen or who will show up.
  • Giant Pac Man Game - Stockyard Rock Burger Bar (908 W Riverside Blvd) - Who doesn't love Pac Man, especially when the screen is as large as a wall.
  • Axe Throwing - Axe Marks The Spot (280 N. Phelps Avenue) - A fairly new bar sport. It looks like fun and I'm going to have to try it.

That's a few suggestions to get you started. Do you have any ideas to share?
