After their drummer A.J.Pero died last month, the remaining members of Twister Sister have been mourning the loss of their bandmate, as well as contemplating the future of the group. It looks like frontman Dee Snider and company have come to a decision. They will do one last tour, and then call it quits.

According to a press release, Twisted Sister have "made it official that 2016 will formally close the touring chapter of their illustrious and legendary career." They're calling their trek "Forty and F—k It," in honor of their 40th anniversary as a band. The farewell dates will feature the main lineup of Snider, Jay Jay French, Mark Mendoza and Eddie Ojeda. It has not been announced who will be replacing Pero on drums for those shows.

However, the band has found a replacement for Pero for all of their 2015 dates. They've announced ex-Dream Theater stickman Mike Portnoy as their new drummer. In a role reversal, Portnoy, who currently plays with the Winery Dogs, is a former drummer for Adrenaline Mob and was replaced by Pero when he left that group. Pero died of a massive heart attack on March 20 while on tour with Adrenaline Mob. In the press release, the band made it clear that they will be fulfilling all of their concert obligations, including festival dates, scheduled for the rest of this year.

Yesterday, Twisted Sister announced they’d be playing a tribute show for their late drummer. “Twisted Sister – A Concert to Honor AJ Pero” will take place on June 13 at Starland Ballroom in New Jersey. And today, they've announced another show in honor of the late musician. On May 30, Twisted Sister will perform at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The show will be filmed for broadcast, as well as for a CD and a DVD.

Just days after Pero’s death, Twisted Sister guitarist Jay Jay French was a guest on Sirius XM’s Eddie Trunk Live and talked about his last conversation with the drummer, a chat that mentioned a possible end date for the group. French says they talked about all of the things going on with Twisted Sister, like some live CD releases and an upcoming documentary, but he ended the conversation by saying “maybe we should put a plan together to figure out…you know maybe it’s time to bow out.”
