Tornado Touches Down Near Ashton
UPDATE: At least one person has now been confirmed dead after a tornado swept through Fairdale on Thursday.
The National Weather Service has confirmed a tornado touched down near Ashton just after 6:45 p.m.
Among the structures suffering severe damage was Grubsteakers Restaurant along Route 64 in Rochelle.

I took this at 6:55pm as I left the Grubsteakers restaurant at the corner of 251 and 64...glad I left when I did.

The NWS indicated the storm traveled northeast through the area. This photo was taken shortly after near Cherry Valley.
Ashton is about 7 miles west of Rochelle.
