Illinois is home to one of the scariest roller coasters in the world.

According to msn.com,

"One of the most terrifying roller coasters in the world is Goliath, a wooden roller coaster with the longest drop, at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Illinois."

"Plunge from 180 feet in the air at speeds up to 72 miles per hour. Near-vertical 85-degree angle, with unexpected twists and turns."

I've always been a huge fan. You can keep the spinning rides, just give me a roller coaster and I'll be good to go.

It was great growing up, because my parents were big roller coaster riders too.

A couple of times, we actually took what we called "Roller Coaster Vacations." Our summer vacation would be focused on riding them. We would travel from amusement park to amusement park to find the best coasters.

Even when we were on regular vacations, we would still seek them out. I've been on roller coasters all over the world.

I remember people telling us we were crazy for it, but it's something we enjoyed to do as a family.

Of all the different amusement parks I've been too, Great America is still one of my favorites. They've always had a good variety of roller coasters to ride. I would look forward to a trip there each summer.
