When I first received the email and picture about today's Pet of the Week, Tabitha, I thought what an adorable, happy little face she has!

Yes, Tabitha is adorable, sweet, and playful, but she may not be the happiest right now after finding herself waiting for a new furever home at Winnebago County Animal Services.

Amber Pinnon, Adoption and Volunteer Program Coordinator at Winnebago County Animal Services, had this to say about Tabitha, who is a 2-year-old mixed breed female;

Looking for a dog with a little bit of spunk that will keep you on your toes? Then you're in luck! I'm Tabitha. When a kind citizen found me all by my lonesome running loose I was a bit scared. But who wouldn't be? The friendly staff here at the shelter have been very patient and given me a lot of time to warm up to my new surroundings. Now I have lots of new friends here and they are even helping me find my new forever home! I have a few tricks up my sleeve and I could show you when you come to visit me! I know how to 'sit' and I'm very gentle taking treats. I am in desperate need of a cozy blanket by the fire accompanied by ear scratches and belly rubs. Can you provide me with both?

Tabitha's adoption fee is $110, and includes up-to-date vaccinations, license and microchip. You can even fill out an adoption application in advance now at wcasrock.org. If you think sweet Tabitha is the girl for you, don't forget to add her name and ID# A433592 on your application so the shelter has her ready to impress you when you get there!
