State Tells Rockford to Take Down Cheap Trick Signs
Looks like Rockford must "Surrender" to IDOT.
According to RRSTAR Rockford has been forced to take down four of the Cheap Trick signs that were put up to celebrate the band going into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Mayor Morrissey was sent a letter claiming that the signs were a form of advertising, and didn't meet sign rules. Thanks for the buzzkill IDOT.
So a sign congratulating Cheap Trick for making into the HOF, that says the streets are patrolled by the "Dream Police", that's advertising?
In a state that is known country wide for mountains of debt and governors in prison, taking down street signs that celebrate something good seems appropriate.
You will still see a handful of these signs up around town. Four of them off of East State, West State, North Second, and South Main are no more.
