Some Rockford Bars and Restaurants Not Backing Down from Pritzker

A group of Rockford-area establishment will remain open despite Governor Pritzker's order to close indoor options for bars and restaurants. And plan on seeing a lot of businesses remain open. Along with Fozzy's, RBI, Louie's Tap House, Rascals, and Legends (just to name a few) are in agreement to stay open with better measures for safety.

After reports of COVID-19 cases increasing in region 1 (Boone, Carroll, DeKalb, Jo Daviess, Lee, Ogle, Stephenson, Whiteside, and Winnebago counties), Illinois' Governor is sticking it to the service industry and wants all indoor dining options closed until further notice. According to his new order, indoor dining would be eliminated beginning tomorrow, October 3, 2020.It looks like he's going to be a lone wolf in enforcing these closures. Many local officials are backing up area bars and restaurants buy encouraging them to stay open. This, after a meeting with an attorney Thursday night.

According to Fozzy's Bar & Grill, here is who is in support of businesses staying open.

Senator Dave Syverson, Loves Park Mayor, Sherrif Caruana, Rep John Cabello also spoke and SUPPORTED US ALL. The local police will NOT be enforcing and Sherrif stated that Rockford Chief was pretty much on board with him as well.

The scenery will not be quite the same in that extra measures will be taken, as shared on Fozzy's Bar & Grill Facebook.

No bands or DJ's on the weekends.
More attention to capacity.
All Staff will always be in masks.
Customers will need to walk in with masks and take off when they sit down.
Sanitization of menus, tables, etc.

We are NOT making our staff work. They have the option to work. I've told them if you don't feel safe, take off until you feel safe.

If you don't feel comfortable or safe to venture out to support local dining, take advantage of the many delivery options in the northern Illinois area.

For these owners and staff, it must be a relief to have the support of the local government or local officials.
