Rockford’s State Street Bridge is Closing for Repairs

The project, which should take around two weeks, involves replacing a 120-year-old water main.

Be prepared to take a different route through downtown for the next couple weeks. The State Street bridge will be closed between Madison and Wyman. Businesses within the closure will remain open, accessible by foot only.

The water main replacement project starts today (4/30/20) and is expected to be completed by May 15.

The project stretches all the way to North Water Street near the Riverview Ice House, according to MyStateline.com.
