Rockford has some great public art downtown, but you might be missing out on one of the best pieces if you're not hitting the side streets.

Each week, "Weird Ass Rockford" highlights interesting locations and people in the area that help make Rockford, well, Rockford. These are the things that make Rockford a unique place to live and work.

In this episode of "Weird Ass Rockford," we take you to Madison Street to show you trees made out of colorful CDs.

According to the Rockford Area Arts Council, the trees were created by local artist Theresa Rowinski.

Many of the CDs for the project were donated and later painted by local organizations.
