Recently, I was having a conversation with a good friend of mine who's a dispatcher for the Rockford Department; we were discussing a photo that she shared on Instagram.

To protect her anonymity, I can't share it, but she is absolutely stunning; and in the photo she's wearing her uniform with a caption that says, "I'm the girl you call a stupid a** hoe when I ask you where the suspect is."  I admit, I laughed, but it was kind of sad.

Her only goal, when taking calls from people in distress is to get them the help that they need and promptly; so it's hard to fathom that people would talk to her that way...and she works behind the scenes.

Imagine being out there, on the front lines, physically looking for potentially dangerous suspects.

Here's the thing about the people who work so hard to protect and serve our community- they all have the same hope and desire- to help others. In doesn't matter in what capacity, as long as they know they're making a difference.

And that can be done in a multitude of ways, like helping a child in need. Which is exactly what Rockford police officer, Assistant Deputy Chief Mike Dalke, was photographed doing at a Rockford McDonald's.

According to Eyewitness News the photo has now gone viral.

If you needed any proof that Rockford police officers are working hard to improve, develop and strengthen relationships in our community everyday, there it is.
