1994 - Bruce Springsteen won the Oscar for Best Original Song for "Streets of Philadelphia" from the film "Philadelphia."

1984 - Yoko Ono purchased an area in Central Park and named it "Strawberry Fields."

1981 - REO Speedwagon had their first top 40 hit and their first chart-topper go to number one with "Keep on Loving You."

1976 - David Bowie and Iggy Pop were busted for having drugs in their New York hotel room.

1961 - The Beatles made their first appearance at The Cavern Club in Liverpool.

This would have to be my favorite video of Iggy Pop and Bowie together, if only Iggy would put a shirt on.
