Remembering September 11th, 15 Years Later
Do you remember where you were on September, 11, 2001? Warning, this video is very difficult to watch.
I was in junior college when the events that happened on September 11, 2001 changed the world as we knew it.
I was awake, getting ready to go to class when I came down stairs and saw my grandmother, with her hand over her face, watching the news in horror.
She said, "there's been an explosion or something in New York. It's the World Trade Center."
I watched with her calmly, trying to figure out exactly what I was seeing. Then, I saw it. I saw the second plane crash right into the second tower.
I'm still not sure I had any idea exactly the magnitude of what I was watching was. I was numb? In shock? In awe? All of the above?
Two students at NYU will never forget the day the world turned their head's to the World Trade Center. They shot this video from their dorm room on campus of New York University.
I'll warn you, the video is extremely difficult to watch.
We will never forget where we were that day, or the lives that were lost. We celebrate and remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice this weekend at the Winnebago County 9/11 First Responders Memorial.
We hope to see you there.
