First a ton of Kraft Mac and Cheese, now Amy's Kitchen organic products! Yikes!

It boggles my mind how many products are put into the market, then taken back. It happens all the time. Why does this happen? Human error, machine error, the possibilities are endless. But now that I have thrown away 3 boxes of Kraft Mac and Cheese last week, I once again am going to have to go through my kitchen.

Amy's Kitchen, Inc. is voluntarily recalling almost 74,000 cases of it's organic food products because they may be contaminated with listeria.

The FDA states that Listeria can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people and others with weakened immune systems. High fever, severe headache, nausea, diarrhea are some of the symptoms of the infection. Listeria can also cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

Amy's Kitchen, Inc. is not sure of the date related to the recall, but as a precaution, all products that include spinach are being recalled.

This includes my favorite, the Garden Vegetable Lasagna, Enchilada Verde, Spinach Pizza and Tofu Scramble.

I took a food sanitation class once, and the best advice I got is, "when in doubt, throw it out!" You can throw your Amy's Kitchen Spinach filled dinners out or you can visit the store you purchased them from for a full refund.
