Over 300,000 Pounds Of Meat Sold In Illinois, Wisconsin Recalled

Over 300,000 pounds of hot dogs and sausages were recalled yesterday.

It's not because the meat is bad, the recall is due to a labeling error.

According to Taste of Home, "The products contain soy—but soy was mistakenly left off of the label. It could be pretty serious for anyone with a soy allergy!"

The hot dogs and sausages, made by Kent Quality Foods in Michigan and distributed to 21 different states including Illinois and Wisconsin.

The recall is centered around meats that were sent out between September 9, 2017, and April 29, 2018.

Most of the Kent Quality Foods hot dogs and sausages will only be found in restaurants, so be sure to check the fridge for leftovers and pitch them out if someone at home has a soy allergy.

The USDA is referring to the incident as a Class II Recall saying "This is a health hazard situation where there is a remote probability of adverse health consequences from the use of the product."
