E/PC tied the game at 28 with seven seconds left in regulation as Carson Clouse hauled in a tipped Lane Christians pass. The go-ahead two-point conversion failed to force overtime. Du/Pec had gone up 28-22 after speedster Gabe Howard took a fumble and raced 77 yards the other way for a TD.

In OT, the Rivermen scored first on a third-down touchdown pass from sophomore quarterback Hunter Hoffman to Grant McCallips. Trenton Taylor ran in the two-point conversion for a 36-28 lead. E/PC's Christians found the end zone cutting the lead to 36-34 before Du/Pec came up big and stopped the two-point conversion run short.

For West Carroll, they built a 24-0 cushion behind a pair of two rushing touchdowns each from quarterback Derek Tracy and running back Kody Sipe in their big win over Dakota.

Lena-Winslow rolled on blanking Amboy 62-0 and Forreston smacked Galena 52-9. Orangeville had no problem with A/FC 41-14. Aquin continued to turn heads with a 40-22 win over Stockton. And East Dubuque went to 2-0 beating Milledgeville 14-6.

NUIC performers of the week Sean Ormiston of Lena-Winslow. He had 84 yards on only seven carries to go over the 3,000 rushing mark for his career. Isaiah Bruce had 107 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only five rushes. The Panthers had 365 yards on the ground. Du/Pec quarterback Hoffman threw four 224 yards and three touchdown passes in the overtime win over E/PC. Aquin quarterback Will Gustafson clicked on 9 of 11 passes for 149 yards and two touchdowns both to Andrew Bowman. Ty Stykel had 109 yards rushing and a TD for the Bulldogs. For Orangeville Garret Rodebaugh racked up 205 yards rushing and four touchdowns.

In eight-man football, former NUIC teams Polo went to 2-0 after a forfeit and River Ridge lost to an Iowa school 76-46. And Warren in the Coop with Blackhawk WI stayed unbeaten at 3-0 with a 24-12 victory.

Stateline Sports Hub Media picks. Best record for week two was Joe Dredge of WROK/Stateline Sports Hub. He was only one to pick West Carroll over Dakota and was unbeaten at 7-0 on the week. Dredge is now 12-2 overall. The overall leaders both at 13-1 are Kyle Kampmier of the NUIC Football Fanatics/Journal Standard and Scott Leber, WTVO, both 13-1, they were 6-1 this week.
