Global menu items will be available for purchase at the new corporate McDonald's headquarters in Chicago.

Do you remember that famous scene from the movie, "Pulp Fiction" when Samuel L. Jackson and John Travolta's characters have a discussion about the differences between fast-food restaurants in Europe and the United States?

A few years ago, I went to Finland for a vacation with my family. My daughter was pretty young and getting hungry. We actually walked by a McDonald's. We went in to grab her something quick and out of curiosity. It was definitely different. They have some of the same items but some unique things too.

A while back, the restaurant did a promotion where they served some of those strange foods in U.S. locations. It was quite popular.

If you've never had them, there is now an opportunity in Chicago. It opened this week. According to news.mcdonalds.com,

"From Canada’s Mighty Angus Burger to the Cheese & Bacon Loaded Fries from Australia, McDonald’s announces today it’s serving up menu favorites from around the world in a one-of-a-kind global-inspired restaurant on the ground floor of its new corporate headquarters opening later this spring in Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood."

The corporate headquarters used to be located in Oak Brook. When I was in school, one year my summer job was across the street. I would eat lunch there quite a bit. That one didn't have any world-wide foods but they did serve American McDonald's items no longer available. For example, they had pizza. It was pretty cool. If you're in the city, it might be worth a quick stop.
