I'm a big music fan and really enjoy going to concerts, especially outdoor festivals in the summer. I still like to discover new bands. In my opinion, the live experience is always best. Every year I try hard to check out at least a couple of new shows.

The cool thing is that there are so many options where we live. Of course, we have lots of concerts in the Rockford area. Plus, there are plenty of shows in Chicago, Madison, Milwaukee, and more that are just a short drive away.

Yeah, I was surprised too when I first heard of it. It's the Mile Of Music Festival in Appleton. This year it's happening from August 1st through the 4th. They feature up-and-coming bands that are required to play completely original music, with no covers.

Each year they draw over 100,000 music fans to this one mile of the town. The stats from this festival can be compared to events like Summerfest in Milwaukee. I have friends that go every year and they love it and always have a good time.
