A popular state park in Wisconsin had to shut down early for the season because of a serious problem with mice.

Mice Infestation At Wisconsin Campground

Wisconsin is a very popular state for visitors during the summertime. I think it's mainly because of all the fun outdoor adventures for tourists. One of the things people really enjoy doing when they cross the Cheddar Curtain is camping. There are a lot of campgrounds throughout the state.

One of the most famous places to visit in Wisconsin during the nice weather months is Door County. There's lots to do there with so many options for the whole family. One of the hot spots in that area is Rock Island State Park.

Unfortunately, there was a serious problem at Rock Island State Park in Door County this year. The area was overrun by mice. It got so bad even some of the most serious outdoor lovers stopped going there. Officials ended up closing the place up for the season early to keep people safe.

These mice weren't just hanging out in the state park, they were causing some serious damage. The animals would chew up anything in sight. I even heard of an incident when the mice destroyed a pair of Crocs.

Wisconsin State Park officials believe mild winter weather and the lack of predators have allowed the mice population to keep growing. They're hoping this winter will help decrease the mice population. Until the problem is solved, you'll have to find somewhere else to camp. Maybe, they need to call the Pied Piper.
