Memorial Day Events and Deals In Rockford
Memorial Day is approaching and there are plenty of fun, family events and deals that will be happening in Rockford. Slather on the sunscreen and remember those who have died in active military service.
EVENTS:
A great way to honor those who serve. Pastor Larry Moody, an Army veteran of the first Gulf War will be the guest speaker this year. There will also be a reading of the Gettysburg Address and a roll call of the honored dead. Admission is free.
Parade will line up near the intersection of 7th St. and 6th Ave. At 9 a.m., the parade will proceed north on 7th St. to Charles St. to State St. The parade will then travel west on State St., turn north on Main St., and proceed north to the intersection of N. Main St. and Park Ave. where the parade will end.
Directly following there will be a memorial at Veterans Memorial Hall.

Hooters in Rockford is offering 10 free wings with a drink purchase to all active duty military, veterans and their spouses.
Lowe's honors all veterans on Memorial Day (as well as July 4th and Veterans Day) with a 10 % discount.
