Welcome to MANdatory Captain Jack. In the upcoming weeks I will be posting videos and blogs about what it means to be a "man". We will push the boundaries of what is considered manly.

The picture is from an NPC Bodybuilding Show I did last week. O.K., so you work your ass off for months, diet properly, etc...But then you also spray tan, get rubbed down in oil to have a nice glow, you whiten your teeth, and so on. So is this manly?

Long gone are the days of the man works, the woman stays home. Of the 123 million women age 16 years and over in the U.S.,  over 72 million, or 58.6 percent, were labor force participants. Women comprised 47 percent of the total U.S. labor force.

What about men "taking care" of themselves? Is it O.K. for a man to get a massage, a manicure, a facial? Are you eating right and getting proper exercise?

There are still plenty of "tough guy" John Wayne types that are all about red meat, football on Sunday and a cold beer. Which is 100% fine, but would you be willing to try something "different".

According to What Culture these are the 10 Manliest Things You Can Do In Life. Pretty funny stuff.

  • Wrestle a Bear
  • Eat a Ridiculous Amount of Red Meat
  • Grow an Outrageous Beard
  • Shave With an axe
  • Win A Bare-Knuckle Boxing Match
  • Ride A Great White Shark
  • Change Your Name To Sound Like An Action Hero
  • Lead Men Into Battle
  • Be Chuck Norris
  • Have A Heroic Death

So prepare yourself as we test the boundaries of what makes you a "man", MANdatory Captain Jack is coming soon.
