NBC Chicago is reporting that, "John Waltz, 52, was charged with a felony count of boarding an aircraft with a weapon, according to Chicago Police. Waltz, who lives in La Porte, Indiana, was being screened at a security checkpoint for a Las Vegas-bound flight when TSA agents found the .38-caliber Ruger handgun in his carry-on bag, police and the TSA said. The gun was loaded with a round in the chamber."

I am all for the second amendment. I am a fan of legal concealed carry. I am even on board with Trump's Reciprocity Bill that would allow anyone with a concealed carry permit to carry in any state.

Guns on a plane? I ain't down with that. And, we should all know that the TSA ain't down with that either.

Guns are not allowed on a plane for obvious reasons. "You cannot carry a gun on a plane unless you're a federal agent or a law enforcement officer on official business," an expert told CNBC.

In their defense, the airports with the most seizures are located in states where concealed carry is common.

"When you look at the top 10 airports with the highest seizures, a lot are in states where concealed carry is common," said aviation security expert Jeff Price. "In Atlanta, you can even carry a weapon in the public areas of the terminal building."

Still, though, it's common sense. I wouldn't want the book thrown at these people if they made a mistake, but people have to be smarter than this. RIght?
