A rescue was made on the Sugar River of a Loves Park man.

I'm not much of an outdoor activity type of person. I've never been into hiking, camping, or anything like that. I think it's really because I wasn't around it growing up. I have nothing against it though.

I know plenty of people who enjoy it. Especially, in the Rockford area. There are so many different ways you can participate in them around here. This time of year, water sports are very popular like boating, fishing, swimming, tubing, and water skiing to name a few. Plenty of locations to spend time.

Of course, safety is a high priority when it comes to nature. You never quite know what will happen. It's pretty much unpredictable. Luckily, there are talented first responders around to help out if you need a hand.

According to mystateline.com,

"Officers were informed that two people were struggling in the Sugar River, one clinging to a kayak and the other clinging to a tube. When crews got to the scene, they were able to rescue a male from Loves Park and a female from Lake in the Hills."

A big thanks to the rescue workers who made sure those people made it home safe.

I hate to live in a "what if" type world but before you head out for an adventure, please make sure you're prepared for anything.
