Here is the big question going into UFC 203 Saturday night in Cleveland, how will a former pro wrestler do in his debut?

Do pro wrestlers get hurt night in and night out, yes. Are pro wrestlers athletes, yes. Will a wrestler stepping into a world of legit choke holds and knock out blows do well, who knows.

I thought I'd turn to some local experts to get opinions. First off I reached out to Shayne Adams. Shayne is a MMA fighter with years of in ring experience and training. Shayne teaches fighting skills at Northern Illinois Combat Club & Fitness in Machesney Park. N. IL Combat Club  I asked Shayne about the transition from WWE to UFC and how he thinks CM Punk will do in his debut:

In my opinion, I am in a catch 22 position. I think it's great because it brings more mainstream exposure to combat sports. On the other hand, I think it's a slap in the face to athletes that have been training longer and harder for the same shot. I have heard that CM Punk, has been taking this very seriously. However, I do not feel it will be enough to beat Mickey Gall.

Next I went to the other side of the coin. I got a hold of Richard Bonjour who is the owner and Managing Director of Frontier Championship Wrestling, a local independent pro wrestling company based out of Freeport. FCW will host their "King of The Frontier" this Saturday night in Freeport. Frontier Championship Wrestling I asked Rich the same questions:

It's great if it's really his dream but I've seen some of his training stuff & i think he's gonna get the crap beat out of himself. I wish him the best of luck & i hope Dana White is smart enough to put the camera on his wife as much as possible cause she's really the only talent in that family.

Personally I want CM Punk to succeed this weekend. I'm a fan of his approach to things. He is a hard worker and doesn't take crap from people. Punk always stays true to his personal values and his beliefs. Plus he's pretty much a jerk, I dig that.

All the talk, the ESPN specials, and the internet rumors can come to an end. Saturday night at UFC 203 we will all find out if it really is "clobbering time" for former WWE Superstar CM Punk.
