Surprising New Study Says Illinois Among America’s ‘Least Kind States’
Have you heard of the term "kill 'em with kindness?"
That's a saying that doesn't go around a whole lot in Illinois.
I always thought we're in the Midwest so kindness kind of comes with the territory. Looks like I was wrong.
A new study that came out around National Random Acts of Kindness Day revealed Illinois is one of America's least kind states ranking 9th overall.
Here are some reasons why according to the research done by the folks at Online Casinos.com:
- 36% stated they wouldn’t volunteer for charity
- 45% said they wouldn’t spontaneously send flowers to a friend
- 49% stated they wouldn’t randomly compliment a stranger in public
- 32% declared they wouldn’t go to lunch with a colleague they’ve not met before
Here are the eight states that are considered even less kind than Illinois.
Kansas
Pennsylvania
Louisiana
Texas
Mississippi
Missouri
Iowa
Oklahoma
If you're wondering what state is considered the "most kind," it's South Carolina.
Wisconsin did land in the top 10 of kind states ranking 10th overall.
While I feel it should bug me that Wisconsin is ranked so highly, I'll be for real with you, I lowkey love Iowa considered the second "least kind" in America. It goes against that whole "heartland of America" jazz.
Wait, that wasn't very kind of me, was it?
Eh, maybe I come by it honestly. After all, I live in Illinois.
