Winnebago County Animal Shelter Reduces Adoption Fees

If you are looking for a new furry addition to add to your family, 'Empty The Shelter' is calling your name this weekend at Winnebago County Animal Services!

I adopted both of my sweet furbabies, Ramen and Noodles, from an animal shelter in Rockford. Honestly, I never thought I would be a cat mom, but here we are with five cat trees, so many cat toys, and an endless amount of cuddles at night!

Like I always say, a pet is a lifelong commitment. If you think it doesn't cost much to take care of a cat or dog, definitely don't impulse adopt.

They deserve love, care, and your full attention - remember that!

Winnebago County Animal Services is hosting their 'Empty The Shelter' event where they drop adoption fees to $10 for adult cats, $25 dogs, and $25 kittens.

Families can visit the beautiful residents at the shelter to see if they'll be a perfect fit for their home on Thursday, Dec. 1st, Friday, Dec. 2nd, and Saturday, Dec. 3rd.

We currently have:

- 82 dogs in the building and we have had to double up kennels- giving dogs limited space.

- 84 cats in the building and we are quickly running out of open enclosures.

You can visit their website for pictures of all the residents they have at the shelter before you go. Plus, make an appointment to see one of them before someone else adopts!

During #EmptytheShelters, adopters are still required to complete a standard adoption application as if it were a normal day. - WCAS

I wish I could adopt another kitten, but I know my cats are very happy with each other and nobody else in their space haha. If you adopt, send me photos!

Winnebago County Animal Services is located at 4517 N Main St, Rockford. They're open Thursday/Friday 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM and Saturday 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
