Nobody does Italian beef better than Illinois. One of Chicago's best beef sandwich shops will soon open a new location in Loves Park with a special surprise.

One of the fastest-growing areas in the Rock River Valley is about to grow again and in a couple of very delicious ways.

I love the business growth in our region in the last couple of years, even more so when that growth brings new food joints that everyone in my family will love.

The East Riverside Boulevard corridor is growing again, this time, two legendary Chicago brands will join together for one unforgettable Italian beef and ice cream dinner. The available land for development in front of Blain's Farm & Fleet is running out as that one large parcel right at the corner of East Riverside Blvd and Galleria Drive will soon have new tenants.

History of Original Rainbow Cone

Another family-owned business, Original Rainbow Cone has been around for almost 100 years. Joseph and Katherine Sapp opened the first Rainbow Cone stand in 1926 in Chicago. One of their original creations is the Rainbow Cone, for those (like the Sapp's) who couldn't decide on what flavor to get, so why not 5 different flavors:

  • Chocolate
  • Strawberry
  • Pistachio
  • Orange sherbet.
  • Palmer House (New York vanilla with cherries and walnuts)
