I fall for them everytime. The claw machine.

I love the claw machine. When my eyes meet the machine, I frantically start digging in my purse for quarters. I must have that stuffed animal.

I don't need the lime green stuffed teddy bear, but I need the victory of winning. I need the few seconds of thrill as I move the joystick and hit the button in the perfect location to pick up the prize below.

Out of the hundreds of attempts, I'm greeted with a feeling of disappointment that comes with loss. I lost again.

I've only ever felt the feeling of winning once, and it should come as no surprise.

The claw machine is rigged.

I'm not just saying that it's rigged because I'm angry I lost, I'm actually saying it's rigged because it's true.

Vox on YouTube explains it all.

We are all just throwing our money away for the thrill.
