Illinois Woman Turns Hard Past Into Bright Future For Many People In Need
If you've lived in the Rockford area for any amount of time I'm sure you've heard about the life-saving work that Miss Carly's does every day for those in need in our community. In fact, Carly Rice, the founder of Miss Carly's, has been named this week's Hometown Hero and will be receiving a $100 Amazon gift card thanks to our friends at Gustafson's Furniture & Mattress, but this honor isn't what she needs most right now, our support is.
Before I tell you about the dire situation Miss Carly's is currently trying to overcome, let me share with you the nomination letter we received from Marissa Lester of Rockford so you fully understand the mission you need to support;
Carly selflessly spends literally 24/7 serving the hungry, homeless, and hurting in our community. She has created an outreach from her home by handing out sack lunches to anyone who asks, but most recently has used this connection over a meal as a way to build relationships with those who feel they are overlooked and cast aside. Through this relation-based approach, she has helped many seek, attend, and complete drug treatment and/or sober living housing. Carly helps the marginalized in our community get back on their feet by providing basic necessities like clothes, hygiene products, shoes, coats, and household items so those who are without can focus on the bigger things like securing a job and a roof over their head. Carly positively impacts so many lives with her servant hearted spirit and get-it-done attitude. She is truly making a difference in the lives of people in Rockford, one meal at a time. I consider her a hero for using her negative, past life experiences not to drag her down, but to propel her to make a different way for others. She deserves recognition for what she’s doing for those who so often aren’t seen as worthy.
Every day the demand for Miss Carly's services grows forcing them to rent out another space that is big enough to prepare all the meals they need to serve. Now that space is being sold, and if Miss Carly's can't raise enough money this week to buy it, they will not be able to continue serving this community.
Every donation, no matter how small or big, will help Miss Carly's continue their support of so many lost souls that need help in the Rockford area. Please consider clicking here and making a donation today.
