The police department in Aurora is going to compile a “habitual drunkard” list to limit people purchasing alcohol.

If you want to purchase liquor in Aurora, you will have to hope your name isn't on the habitual drunkard list, an idea authorities got from Madison, WI.

My husband is a bartender in Aurora, and I have to say he has pretty much seen everything. The liquor laws in Aurora (in my own very specific terminology) are "quite goofy" in Aurora. I know he agrees. I can't wait to ask him about his feelings on this topic tonight when I get home.

The Daily Chronicle reports that Police Sgt. Tom McNamara says the list will have "certain clientele" on the list that frequently have run ins with the local police and fire departments.

This list also includes people who have been transported six times or more in a 120-day period by the local departments.

The goal of this list is obviously public safety.

Will this be something that will eventually go state wide? That I don't know, but I'm very curious to see how it pans out in Aurora.
