Illinois Man Busted For Six Figure Extorsion Plan With Pro Athlete
This one gets a little weird, and quick...So hang on tight for this rapid story of greed, lies, and pro sports.
An Illinois man has found himself in hot water with the FBI after an extorsion plan failed. The Illinois man "claims" that his daughter was knocked up by a pro athlete that is referred to as "P.A" in the reports. They met at a bar in St Louis. There was a relationship, apparently photos to prove it and "allegedly" a pregnancy.
There has to be "some" truth to this story, because the pro athletes friend agreed to the initial demand of $25,000 that the father requested. The $25,000 would be used for to "obtain a DNA test to establish paternity." SG
Wow that's an expensive test! Anyway, after the money was sent to father of the "pregnant" girl changed things up and said she lost the baby, and was now demanding $125,000 to not go public with the story. This is where the law stepped in.
The pro athlete and friend, got the FBI involved in this story. A phone call where the father asked for the $125,000 in hush money, was monitored by the FBI. Oops.
The father said he would go public with the story, photo's etc...this was enough for the FBI to swoop in and take action.
The father, George Edwards was arrested and charged with extorsion. This crime is met with a potential 20 year prison sentence, and $250,000 fine. As the clock expires, and the scoreboard shows the final score...P.A. 1, Extorsion Dad From Illinois 0.
