Our Current Situation Is Different Than The Beginning Of The Pandemic, When Store Shelves Were Cleared Out By Panic-Buying Customers

Thinking back to early 2020 when the pandemic really started rolling, lots of folks went nuts buying up as many staples as they could lay their hands on, especially toilet paper and cleaning/sanitizing products. You'd see stores with the majority of their inventory depleted by that kind of shopping attack.

Now, it's a spotty situation, according to the Consumer Brands Association. They say that while there definitely are shortages, the shortages deal with more specific products, not widespread store-emptying.
