For some people, shopping centers can be very scary places but this Illinois mall takes it to the next frightening level.

Illinois Has A Great Haunted House Scene For Halloween

When it comes to Halloween, Illinois is a great place to live. There are tons of events and activities for the whole family. One of my favorite things to do in October as a teenager was going to haunted houses. We have so many awesomely scary ones in our state. I really like the fact you can find them in some unique locations.

One Of The Most Unique Locations For A Haunted House In Illinois

Most of the time, you find haunted houses in abandoned locations. It makes sense because they already have a creepy feeling to them. Plus, they have the space to create something outrageous. The Insanity Haunted House is located at Peru Mall in Peru, Illinois.

The unique fact about that location. It's still an open and functioning shopping center. So you can buy a new outfit, eat a snack, and get your scare on all at the same place. It adds a new twist to the whole experience. I give the mall credit for being creative while filling its empty spaces. The Insanity Haunted House is huge with over 10,000 square feet.
